Grampians Regional Waste Management Group

The Grampians Regional Waste Management Group is a Statutory Authority that spans from Ararat Rural City in the south to Yarriambiack Shire in the north and includes Horsham Rural City Council and Northern Grampians Shire Council. In partnership with our member Councils the Grampians Regional Waste Management Group implements state-wide policies, strategies and programs at a local level.

Our three year Strategic Business Plan guides the organisation and provides our stakeholders with access to innovative Community Engagement Programs and opportunities to collaborate on a range of projects.

Our Vision

To be responsible as the key agency for supporting and implementing economically and environmentally sustainable waste management and resource recovery practices for the Grampians community through the application of waste avoidance, efficient use of materials, resource recovery and prudent waste disposal.

Our Mission

The Grampians Regional Waste Management Group will strive to:

  • Adopt best practice in the sustainable management of the earth’s finite resources.
  • Foster regional partnerships to actively reduce waste and care for the environment.
  • Advocate for sustainable waste management practices resulting in an improved environment for future generations.
